Serving Our Community Since 1972
Anazao Community Partners has been serving this community since 1972. Over the years, our name has changed, our services have grown, and the needs around us have shifted. But one thing has stayed the same: we are here to respond to the needs of our community with care, speed, and purpose.
Job Support for Increased Stability
We began with a focus on helping people whose lives had been affected by addiction, incarceration, and, to a lesser degree, mental health concerns. At the time, the agency was known as the Human Resource Center. The work centered on vocational support, teaching job readiness, helping people build work skills, and giving them support to enter, reenter, or improve their place in the workforce.
The belief was simple. Work could create stability. Stability could help people move away from addiction and criminal involvement. That early mission shaped the foundation of who we are today.
Counseling Support
As the agency continued to serve people, it became clear that employment support alone was not enough. Many people needed help earlier and more directly. In response, counseling services were added, and the organization began to take a more human-centered and client-focused approach.
In the 1980s, that shift was reflected in a new name: Your Human Resource Center (YHRC).
During that time, YHRC provided counseling and vocational support mainly to adults, with a strong focus on substance use and criminogenic needs. But as staff worked more closely with probation and parole officers, another need came into view. There was a gap in services for youth facing similar struggles.
That realization changed the path of the agency.
Expanding to Support Youth and Families Earlier
Over time, YHRC began building programs for young people. What started with mentorship grew into case management and broader support services. Group therapy also became an important part of care, with groups focused on substance use, criminal behavior, and co-occurring mental health concerns.
By the late 1990s and early 2000s, the agency was serving a more balanced mix of adults and youth. The focus also continued to shift. Vocational services became less central, while mental health services grew alongside the substance use support that had always been part of the organization’s work.
This was an important turning point. The agency became more flexible and more focused on meeting people where they were.
Reflecting a New Way of Service
In 2015, the agency was rebranded and became Anazao Community Partners. This change reflected a new approach. Instead of competing with other providers, the focus shifted to collaboration. Instead of simply growing services, the goal became clearer: serve where there are gaps and make sure people get the care that fits their needs.
This led to expanded support for children, teens, and families. Case management services were formalized for both adults and youth. School-based services grew. Reentry services evolved. Care began to move closer to where people already are at home, in school, and in the community.
Mental Health, Trauma, & Whole-Family Care
Today, Anazao looks very different than it did 50 years ago.
More youth are served than adults. Mental health services now outweigh substance use services. Trauma-informed care is central to how we support people.
We understand that challenges are often connected. That’s why we work with the whole family whenever possible. We support children, parents, and caregivers together, as one support system, not separately.
We still serve adults and individuals with substance use needs. But we do so through a collaborative approach. When another provider is a better fit, we help connect people to the right place. Our goal is not to compete. Our goal is to help.

Our mission is simple: to swiftly meet the behavioral health needs of our community. That mission has guided every step of our growth. It’s why we continue to adjust when needs change. It’s why we focus on being responsive, practical, and easy to access.

1,500+ Youth Supported Through Schools & Services
Year over year, Anazao serves more than 1,500 youth through treatment and prevention programs, working in partnership with 8 local school districts.
This matters because schools are often where challenges first show up. By being present in schools, Anazao helps students get support before problems grow bigger. It also makes care easier to access for families who might not know where to start.
Fast Access to Care When It Matters Most
Anazao served individuals with more than 80% receiving same-day or next-day appointments. Even more important, 86% continued their care after getting started.
Getting help quickly can change everything.
When someone reaches out, they shouldn’t have to wait weeks for support. Fast access builds trust, and continued care shows that people are finding value and sticking with the process.
Strong Outcomes for Justice-Involved Individuals
Adults in Anazao’s justice programs had a non-recidivism rate of over 90%. Justice-involved youth stayed in school more than 94% of the time.
These outcomes reflect real life change. Staying out of the system and staying in school are two of the biggest predictors of long-term stability. This is where support creates lasting impact, not just short-term solutions.
Meeting Complex Mental Health Needs Every Day
Anazao serves people with a range of diagnoses. Most of our consumers present with more than 6 diagnoses, and more than 96% have mental health concerns.
This highlights the level of need in the community. Many individuals are not facing just one challenge, but several at once. Anazao’s role is to meet people where they are and help them take healthy steps forward, one piece at a time.

While many things have changed, our core approach has not.
